DISPOSABLE BABY DIAPER ANALYSIS

1. Product Description and Applications

Disposable baby diapers are products used to ensure the hygiene of babies and meet their liquid absorption needs. These diapers are designed to allow babies to move comfortably, prevent leaks, and provide high absorbency. The standards defined by the Libya National Standards and Metrology Center regulate the manufacturing, testing, and packaging processes of these diapers.

2. Technical Specifications and Requirements

  • Components:

    • Bottom Layer (Outer Layer): Made from liquid-proof materials such as nylon or polyethylene. The weight must be at least 18 g/m².
    • Middle Layer (Absorbent Layer): Composed of cellulose fibers and absorbent granules.
    • Absorbent Granules: 1 gram has a liquid absorption capacity of 700-1000 ml.
    • Inner Layer: Designed to be porous and gentle on the baby's skin.
  • Dimensions:

    • The diaper size is classified according to the baby's weight into small, medium, large, and extra-large.
    • The length and width of the absorbent layer, as well as the overall dimensions of the diaper, are defined.
  • Chemical and Physical Requirements:

    • pH Level: Should be in the range of 5-8.
    • Liquid Retention Capacity: The absorbed liquid should not return to the baby's skin.
    • Material Sterilization: None of the diaper components should harm the baby during use.

3. Sampling and Testing Methods

  • Sampling:

    • Random samples are taken from production batches. 10% of the packages are selected as samples.
    • Samples should be collected quickly and using sterile gloves.
  • Tests:

    • Absorption Capacity: The amount of liquid absorbed by the diaper and its retention capacity are measured.
    • Absorption Time: Should not exceed 10 seconds.
    • Chemical Tests: The absorbent layer is tested with acidic and basic solutions, and there should be no color change.
    • pH Test: The diaper is mixed with distilled water and tested using a pH measuring device.

4. Packaging and Labeling Requirements

  • Packaging:

    • Diapers are tightly packaged in polyethylene bags and placed in cardboard boxes.
    • Packages must be sealed to prevent contamination.
  • Labeling:

    • The product name, manufacturer details, production date, suitability for child weight, and environmental instructions should be specified on the packaging.

5. Market Requirements and Compliance

Disposable baby diapers are essential products that provide hygiene and comfort. Standards in the Libyan market guarantee the reliability and quality of these diapers during manufacturing and distribution. HRN Inspection ensures the compliance of baby diapers with Libyan standards by overseeing the production processes.

HRN Inspection improves consumer safety by conducting product quality tests and supports market competitiveness. Compliance with standards enhances the success of baby diapers in local and international markets.
